'My phone' can be said two ways, and both are right. The first feels familiar: a separate word in front — իմ, քո, նրա, մեր, ձեր, նրանց. Իմ հեռախոսը նստել է — my phone has died. The second is shorter and far commoner in speech. -ս (my) and -դ (your) glue onto the back of the word: հեռախոսս (herrakhoss), տունդ, անունս.
The ending takes the place of the -ը tail, it is not piled on top: not 'հեռախոսըս' but հեռախոսս. And it exists only for 'my' and 'your'. 'His house' has one shape only: նրա տունը (nra tunə).
For relatives and your own body the ending wins almost always: մայրս (mayrs), գլուխս ցավում է (glukhs tsavum e). The separate իմ comes out when the ownership itself is the news: Սա իմ տեղն է — this seat is mine.
