ถูก: when the deed happened to you
To say that something was done to someone, Thai puts ถูก before the action. The person in front is the one it happened to. You have already said krapao thuuk khamoi — "the bag was stolen", literally "the bag is stolen". For example: “กระเป๋า ถูก ขโมย” — The bag was stolen. A rule from the Thai course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
To say that something was done to someone, Thai puts ถูก (тхук) before the action. The person in front is the one it happened to. You have already said krapao thuuk khamoi — "the bag was stolen", literally "the bag is stolen".
One scheme covers every trouble and fortune: thuuk jap — detained; thuuk prap — fined; thuuk blok — blocked. The verb after thuuk stands in its dictionary form and changes nothing.
Who did it is added after: thuuk tamruat jap — detained by the police. The word โดย (дои), "by", before it is already bookish; speech manages without it.
Careful: thuuk is also "cheap" — you have known the word since the first market. The place in the phrase tells them apart: before a verb it is suffering, before a price — the wallet's joy.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
