At first everyone believed. But one teacher asked: what is the proof of this? No one could say anything; everyone knew only by hearsay. He took a sample and sent it to the laboratory. Two weeks later the answer came: the water is good. Then why did two people get a stomachache? The teacher dug into the matter deeper. The cause turned out to be another: the food they had eaten. It came out that the well was not at fault, and it had been a delusion. The teacher said: do not believe a story having heard it superficially. Look thoroughly and decide on the basis. The truth comes slowly, but it comes.

Frequently asked
What level do you need to read this text in Tamil?
B1. That means: everyday topics are behind you, you know about three thousand words, and an unknown word is more often guessed from the sentence than looked up.
How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
