How it works
From a number Armenian builds 'twice over', 'a group of ten' and 'one and a half'.
-ակի gives multiples: կրկին (krkin) again → կրկնակի (krknaki) twofold, եռ- three → եռակի (yerraki) threefold, քառ- → քառակի.
-յակ gives a group: տաս (tas) → տասնյակ (tasnyak) a set of ten, հինգ (hing) → հնգյակ a five. But տասնամյակ (tasnamyak) is already a decade.
The trap: there is no single word for 'one and a half'. It is always addition — մեկուկես (mekukes) = մեկ (mek) + ու (u) + կես (kes), and further the same way, երկուսուկես.
