Text
- Uy yigʻilishida boshqaruvchi eski derazalarni almashtirishni taklif qildi. Uning soʻzlariga koʻra, isitish xarajatlari koʻp-kam kamayardi. Qoʻshni qarshi boʻldi va ovozni koʻtardi. Oxirida soʻrovnoma qilishga kelishdik, qarorni esa kuzga qoldirdik. At the residents' meeting the building manager proposed replacing the old windows. By his words, the heating costs would decrease more or less considerably. A neighbor objected and raised his voice. He argued that last year we already paid for the roof repair, and this is unfair. The manager heard him out, admitted the mistake in the bill, and promised a new proposal. In the end we agreed on a survey, and the decision was put off until autumn.

Frequently asked
What level do you need to read this text in Uzbek?
B1. That means: everyday topics are behind you, you know about three thousand words, and an unknown word is more often guessed from the sentence than looked up.
How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
