In the morning the women laid a long table and decorated the house. The bride wore a dress from her sister and a bouquet of field flowers. After the marriage registration the newlyweds cut the cake, and the guests gave money instead of a gift. Uncle gave a long speech, but no one complained. In the evening a bonfire was lit in the yard, and they danced until morning.

A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
