-ni and -ning: whom and whose
Two suffixes stick to the word where English puts a case-like role and "of". Both work in every second sentence about money and papers. For example: “Shartnomani sinchkovlik bilan oʻqidim.” — I read the contract carefully. A rule from the Uzbek course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
Two suffixes stick to the word where English puts a case-like role and "of". Both work in every second sentence about money and papers.
-ni marks the specific thing in question: hisobni toʻlamoq — "to pay the bill", shartnomani buzmoq — "to break the contract". Without -ni the sentence sounds vague, as if about any old thing.
-ning answers "whose": Ali → Alining doʻkoni — "Ali's shop". Pronouns have their own shapes: men → mening, u → uning, biz → bizning.
In a chain of "whose thing" they go together: kitobning muqovasi — "the cover of the book". The -ning hangs on the owner, and the -i on the thing.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
