-sh: an activity out of a verb
From any verb an activity name is made here: the verb drops -moq and takes -sh. ishlamoq → ishlash — work as a process, not a place. For example: “Kitob oʻqish menga yoqadi.” — Reading books pleases me. A rule from the Uzbek course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
From any verb an activity name is made here: the verb drops -moq and takes -sh. ishlamoq → ishlash — work as a process, not a place.
chiqmoq → chiqish — a performance; oʻqimoq → oʻqish — reading; yozmoq → yozish — writing. One word covers both the action and its name.
In services they stand in every sign: qutqaruv xizmati — rescue service, taʼmirlash — repair, yetkazish — delivery, almashtirish — replacement.
With kerak it makes a duty and a rule: musorni qayta ishlash kerak — "waste must be recycled". This is how notices and instructions are written.
Table
| verb | the activity | example | in plain words |
|---|---|---|---|
| chiqmoq | chiqish | sahnaga chiqish | going on stage |
| oʻqimoq | oʻqish | kitob oʻqish | reading a book |
| yozmoq | yozish | xat yozish | writing a letter |
| sotmoq | sotish | uy sotish | selling a house |
| qutqarmoq | qutqarish | qutqaruv xizmati | rescue service |
| taʼmirlamoq | taʼmirlash | poyafzal taʼmirlash | shoe repair |
| yetkazmoq | yetkazish | yetkazish muddati | delivery time |

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
