How it works

To name a quality or a state in one word, -lik is hitched to the word.

Bardoshli — hardy, bardoshlilik — hardiness. Ishsiz — jobless, ishsizlik — unemployment. The word becomes the name of how a person is or how things are going.

In the same row stand your newer words: barqarorlik — stability, from barqaror — stable; beparvolik — carelessness, from beparvo — careless; xilma-xillik — variety, from xil — a kind.

The tail bends to the last vowel of the word: after back vowels it reads "-liq", after front ones "-lik". The meaning does not change with it.

How the rule settles in your head

A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
