How it works

Every verb of speech works with wa. bok wa — to say that; chaeng wa — to report that; aang wa — to claim that. "They say that" needs no name at all: khao wa kan wa, literally "he say they that". Who exactly says it stays unnamed.
For a reference to the source there is tam thi — "according to what": tam thi mo bok — "according to the doctor". Substitute anyone — hua na, phuean, khun yai — and the turn is ready: "according to + who + said".
