- Od trzech tygodni myślę o pracy w innym mieście i nie wiem, co robić. Praca daje większe pieniądze i to jest duża możliwość. Problem w tym, że musiałbym się wyprowadzić, a całe moje życie jest tutaj. Kolega mówi, że przesadzam i że problem jest mniejszy, niż myślę. Wydaje mi się, że ma trochę racji, ale nie jestem pewien, czy rozumie, dlaczego się boję. Do piątku muszę dać odpowiedź, bo firma nie czeka wiecznie.For three weeks now I have been thinking about a job in another city and do not know what to do. The job gives more money, and it is a big opportunity. The problem is that I would have to move, and my whole life is here. My friend says I am exaggerating and that the problem is smaller than I think. It seems to me he is partly right, but I am not sure he understands why I am afraid. I must give an answer by Friday, because the firm does not wait forever.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
