Who and where: -shy, -ker, -paz and -hana
English names a worker with a dozen unrelated words. Kazakh manages with tails, and the tail is never random. For example: “Құрылысшы мен ағаш ұстасы бірге жұмыс істейді” — The builder and the carpenter work together. A rule from the Kazakh course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
English names a worker with a dozen unrelated words. Kazakh manages with tails, and the tail is never random.
The commonest is -shy. It hangs on the name of the business and means the one busy with it. Satu gives satushy, a seller; zhazu gives zhazushy, a writer; qurylys gives qurylysshy, a builder. The tail is alive: sportshy, boksshy.
The tail -ker sounds weightier and gives a person at an occupation: käsip gives käsipker, an entrepreneur; qyzmet gives qyzmetker, an employee. The tail -paz gives not the work but the passion: as gives aspaz, a cook.
The trap: -hana names not a person but a place. Därihana is a pharmacy, zerthana a laboratory, kitaphana a library.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
