Pricer and cheaper: one word, ավելի

How it works
English reshapes the adjective: cheap, cheaper, cheapest. Armenian leaves it alone and puts ավելի (aveli) in front: թանկ (t'ank) → ավելի թանկ (aveli t'ank), more expensive.
'Than' is քան (k'an), and it stands before the second thing: Շուկան ավելի էժան է (shukan aveli ezhan e), քան խանութը (k'an khanut'ə). In everyday speech քան is often dropped and the second word takes the tail -ից instead: Շուկան խանութից էժան է (shukan khanut'its ezhan e).
One trap: ավելի is a separate word. But 'the most' is a prefix glued to the front, ամենա-: ամենաթարմ հացը (amenat'arm hatsə), the freshest bread.
