If… then: agar and to
The condition is assembled from two short words. Agar — if — stands at the head of the first half, to — then — before the second. Agar bukhar ho to aaraam karo — if there is fever, rest. For example: “اگر گلا خراب ہو تو گرم پانی پیو” — If the throat aches — drink hot water. A rule from the Urdu course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
The condition is assembled from two short words. Agar — if — stands at the head of the first half, to — then — before the second. Agar bukhar ho to aaraam karo — if there is fever, rest.
Neither agar nor to changes — only what stands between them does. The verb stands at the end of the second half. The order comes out mirrored against English: condition, then, the deed, the verb.
Negation inside the condition lives in place: agar chaai na ho — if there is no tea. The short na stands before the verb. And advice through agar…to sounds polite: it is not an order but "if you wish, properly".
So one speaks of the future too: "if he comes" takes the same agar. The future will arrive by itself, with the verb at the end.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
