The same words that talk about duty also measure how sure you are that something is so. Different job, and mixing the two is costly. How it works
The same words that talk about duty also measure how sure you are that something is so. Different job, and mixing the two is costly.
The top of the scale is mora da. Mora da je zaboravio na sastanak does not mean he is obliged to forget. It means he must have forgotten. The shape is frozen: mora da plus a personal verb.
Below it sit sigurno and svakako: Sigurno dolazi. Then the neutral verovatno: Verovatno je kod kuće. Beside it stands valjda, which carries hope: Valjda će biti dobro.
The middle is možda: Možda će padati kiša. The bottom is teško da: Teško da će stići na vreme. And sumnjam da means "I doubt that", not "I suspect".
