How it works
"The most" is made with a single letter: the tag -ම joins the quality. හොඳ (honda) → හොඳම ("best"), ලොකු (loku) → ලොකුම (lokuma), උස (usa) → උසම, ලාභ → ලාභම.
Such a word stands before the noun like any description. හොඳම රස්සාව (hondama rassāva) is "the best job", ලංකාවේ උසම කන්ද "the highest mountain in Lanka". The place of comparison takes the -ේ tail: ඔෆිස් එකේ දක්ෂම කෙනා (ofis ekē dakṣama kenā).
Longer and firmer sounds ඔක්කොටම වඩා (okkoṭama vaḍā) — "than all of them": එයා ඔක්කොටම වඩා දක්ෂයි (eyā okkoṭama vaḍā dakṣayi) — "he is abler than anyone". Same sense, more words.
The trap: -ම has a second job, "exactly, myself". මමම කළා is "I did it myself", අදම එන්න (adama enna) is "come today of all days". On a quality the tag gives "the most", on a pronoun it gives force.
