Text
- Экзамен по вождению я сдал с первого раза, хотя готовился почти год. Инструктор повторял одно и то же: не спеши, иначе придётся начинать заново. Оказалось, что самое трудное — парковка между двумя машинами. У меня получилось не сразу, но никто не остановил экзамен. Насколько я знаю, половина сдающих возвращается за правами второй раз. В результате я получил права и поехал домой очень осторожно.Ekzamen po vozhdeniyu ya sdal s pervogo raza, khotya gotovilsya pochti god. Instruktor povtoryal odno i to zhe: ne speshi, inache pridyotsya nachinat zanovo. Okazalos, chto samoe trudnoe — parkovka mezhdu dvumya mashinami. U menya poluchilos ne srazu, no nikto ne ostanovil ekzamen. Naskolko ya znayu, polovina sdayushchikh vozvrashchaetsya za pravami vtoroy raz. V rezultate ya poluchil prava i poekhal domoy ochen ostorozhno.I passed the driving exam on the first try, though I had prepared for almost a year. The instructor repeated the same thing: don't rush, or you will have to start over. It turned out the hardest thing was parking between two cars. It didn't come off at once for me, but nobody stopped the exam. As far as I know, half of those taking it come back for their license a second time. As a result I got my license and drove home very carefully.
Comprehension questions
The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.
- How did he pass the exam?
- What turned out the hardest?
- What did the instructor repeat?
- How many pass on the first try?
Frequently asked
What level do you need to read this text in Russian?
B1. That means: everyday topics are behind you, you know about three thousand words, and an unknown word is more often guessed from the sentence than looked up.
How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
