გამყიდველი (gamqidveli) — seller. the start is not 'gamq' with an English q: the q comes from the very depth of the throat, the lips do not move
სასწორი (sastsori) — scales. the cluster s-sts frightens the eye but sounds simple: sas-tso-ri
მწიფე (mtsipe) — ripe. the ts is a short sharp ts, with no puff and no stretching
კალათა (kalata) — basket. the k is a sharp, 'caught' sound: the tongue tears off the palate with a click, no puff of air
პარკი (parki) — plastic bag. the p is an ejective p, no puff: the lips open short and sharp
მძიმე (mdzime) — heavy. the mdz at the start is not 'm-d-z' said apart: m and dz are pronounced together, in one motion
კიბე (kibe) — stairs. the k is a sharp k with no puff; compare the kh in kucha, where the puff is audible
საწოლი (satsoli) — bed. the ts in the middle is a sharp ts: sa-tso-li
კარი (kari) — door. the k is an ejective k. In khari, wind, there is kh — the same k but with a puff. Our transliteration does not tell them apart; a Georgian always does
რეცხვა (retskhva) — laundry. retskh is r, ts and kh in a row, with no vowel between them: rets-khva
How to work on pronunciation on your own
Listening and repeating aloud is not a platitude — it is the only technique available without a teacher. Saying words out loud gives a small but measured gain over silent reading, and it is also the only way to notice that your mouth is not shaping a sound your ear already tells apart.

Second: listen to whole words, not isolated sounds. A sound never occurs in speech on its own — it always stands next to its neighbours and changes with them.
