The future: a prefix at the front, not an ending
The past builds the person with an ending: katavti — I wrote, katavta — you wrote. The future does the opposite. It puts a letter at the front of the verb, and that letter names who writes. For example: “מחר אלך לנמל התעופה.” — Tomorrow I will go to the airport. A rule from the Hebrew course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
The past builds the person with an ending: katavti — I wrote, katavta — you wrote. The future does the opposite. It puts a letter at the front of the verb, and that letter names who writes.
Watch it grow out of katav, wrote: echtov — I will write, where the alef at the front means I. Put tav in front — tichtov, you will write; put yod — yichtov, he will write. The root k-t-b stands still, the vowels move, and the start of the word carries the person.
A woman gets her own form with a final -i: tichtevi — you will write. No pronoun needed: machar yichtov — tomorrow he will write — is clear without hu.
One trap: a future form is also a polite request. Tichtov li is both "you will write to me" and "write to me": bevakasha and intonation decide.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
Frequently asked
The future: how does it work in Hebrew?
The past builds the person with an ending: katavti — I wrote, katavta — you wrote. The future does the opposite. It puts a letter at the front of the verb, and that letter names who writes.
What does it look like in a Hebrew example sentence?
“מחר אלך לנמל התעופה.” (махар элэх ла-нэмэль ха-теуфа.) — Tomorrow I will go to the airport. A rule is easier to test on sentences like this than to memorize as a wording: what surfaces in conversation is the sentence.
