How it works
A verb with an object agrees with two at once: the one who does and the thing it is done to. The object mark stands at the front: d-ut — "it-I-have", so erosten dut — I buy it.
Many objects change the middle: ditut — erosten ditut — I buy them. The same shift with any person: du — he has it, ditu — he has them.
The doer takes the tail -k: Nik liburuak erosten ditut — I buy the books. And ekarri, to bring, keeps forms of its own: dakart — I bring it, dakartzat — I bring them.
