Comparison: πιο φτηνό από αυτό
To say "cheaper than this" you need three bricks: πιο (more), the quality itself, and από (than). Αυτό είναι πιο φτηνό από το άλλο — this is cheaper than that one. For example: “Αυτό είναι πιο φτηνό από το άλλο” — This is cheaper than that one. A rule from the Greek course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
To say "cheaper than this" you need three bricks: πιο (more), the quality itself, and από (than). Αυτό είναι πιο φτηνό από το άλλο (aftó íne pio ftinó apó to álo) — this is cheaper than that one.
After από the word takes its object shape, the one that follows any preposition. On neuter words nothing shows; on masculine ones it does: πιο ακριβός από τον γείτονα (pio akrivós apó ton yítona).
There is a shorter, bookish way — the ending -τερος: ακριβότερος instead of πιο ακριβός (pio akrivós). It sounds dry in talk, but price tags and ads are full of it.
"The most expensive" is the same thing with "the" in front: ο πιο ακριβός (o pio akrivós). When there is nothing to compare with, use πολύ (polí): πολύ ακριβό (polí akrivó) — very expensive.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
