Not "I found out" but "it became clear to me"
A whole class of Divehi verbs gets by with no doer. The one it happened to takes the ending -އަށް, and the matter itself is the subject. For example: “އަހަންނަށް ފަހުން ސާފުވި” — It became clear to me later. A rule from the Maldivian course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.

A whole class of Divehi verbs gets by with no doer. The one it happened to takes the ending -އަށް (-ah), and the matter itself is the subject.
އަހަންނަށް ސާފުވި (ahannah saafuvi) — "it became clear to me", that is "I found out". އަހަންނަށް ކާމިޔާބުވި (ahannah kaamiyaabuvi) — "it succeeded to me". އަހަންނަށް މަގުއޮޅުނު (ahannah maguolhunu) — "the road got tangled to me", that is "I got lost".
Feelings and abilities work the same: އަހަންނަށް އެނގޭ (ahannah engey) — "I know", އަހަންނަށް ކުރެވޭ (ahannah kureveyne) — "I will manage". Having, too: އަހަންނަށް ލިބުނު (ahannah libunu) — "I got it". Divehi has no verb "to have" at all.
Telling such a verb from an ordinary one is easy: ask who acts by their own will. އަހަރެން ބަލަނީ (aharen balanee) — "I am looking" (myself). But އަހަންނަށް ފެނުނު (ahannah fenunu) — "it showed itself to me".
