The future: sawf and the prefix sa-
The future is made by two short things: the word sawf or the single prefix "sa-" before a present-tense verb. sawf nasaafiru — "we will travel"; sa-nsaafiru — "we will set off". The present shape already knows the person and the gender, so there is almost nothing new to learn — only the switch. For example: “سوف نسافر غدا” — Tomorrow we will go traveling. How it works
The future is made by two short things: the word sawf or the single prefix "sa-" before a present-tense verb. sawf nasaafiru — "we will travel"; sa-nsaafiru — "we will set off". The present shape already knows the person and the gender, so there is almost nothing new to learn — only the switch.
The difference between sawf and the prefix is distance: sawf nasaafiru sounds wider and calmer, the short sa-nsaafiru — nearer, almost "we are setting off now". In everyday speech the short "sa-" is heard more; in announcements and promises, sawf.
The negation of the future is lan plus a cut-down shape: lan adhhab — "I will not go". One more way to say "no" — and it too is short.
Promises and plans live in the future: sa-ahjuz ghurfatan — I will book a room; sa-naltaqii fii al-makhqa — we will meet at the coffeehouse. Everything you can say in the present becomes the future with one letter.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
Frequently asked
The future: how does it work in Arabic?
The future is made by two short things: the word sawf or the single prefix "sa-" before a present-tense verb. sawf nasaafiru — "we will travel"; sa-nsaafiru — "we will set off". The present shape already knows the person and the gender, so there is almost nothing new to learn — only the switch.
What does it look like in a Arabic example sentence?
“سوف نسافر غدا” (сауф насифиру гадан) — Tomorrow we will go traveling. A rule is easier to test on sentences like this than to memorize as a wording: what surfaces in conversation is the sentence.
