A name grows out of a verb here, and there are three paths.
The first is the name of a person by deed: cuinar — to cook, el cuiner — the cook. So too vendre — to sell, el venedor — the seller.
The second is the name of the deed itself: treballar — to work, el treball — the work. And vendre gives la venda, the sale.
The third is the tail -dor / -dora: treballador — worker, comprador — buyer, jugador — player. It serves machines too: l'assecador — the hair dryer.
