How it works
Kin walks in pairs by gender: el sogre — father-in-law, la sogra — mother-in-law, el gendre — son-in-law, la nora — daughter-in-law.
Here too el nebot and la neboda — nephew and niece. The husband's mother and the wife's are one la sogra, the fathers one el sogre.
One's own folk are called by a plural possessive: els meus — mine, that is my parents or my kin. Vindran els meus?
Pairs to it: els teus — yours, els seus — his. Seniority is added by an adjective: el germà gran, la germana petita.
