How it works
The start of an action — començar a or posar-se a plus the verb: Comença a ploure — it starts to rain.
El xiquet es posa a plorar — the child sets to crying. "Posar-se a" sounds more resolute: the person takes it up and begins.
The end — acabar de plus the verb, "to have just done": Acabo de menjar, ara no puc córrer.
And "acabar" with a noun is simply to finish: Acabem el projecte demà.
