The shcho- prefix: shchodia, shchorazu, shchoino
Ukrainian folds whole phrases into single words with the prefix shcho-, and the habit is one of the language's fingerprints. For example: “Щодня о сьомій я виходжу з дому” — Every day at seven I leave the house. A rule from the Ukrainian course: worked out on examples, not memorized as a wording.
How it works
Ukrainian folds whole phrases into single words with the prefix shcho-, and the habit is one of the language's fingerprints.
Regularity: shchodia every day, shchotyzhnia every week, shchomisiatsia every month, shchoroku every year. Also shchorazu every time, shchoranku every morning, shchovechora every evening. English has done this once already — every day became daily — Ukrainian just kept going. You can also say kozhen den, but it sounds heavier.
Time: shchoino means both just now and as soon as; the verb carries the tense. Shchoino vin zaishov, use zamovkly — the second he walked in, everyone went quiet. The same prefix elsewhere: shchopravda actually, though; shchodo regarding; shchonaimenshe at least.
And nearby lives za- meaning too: zavelyka, zadoroho, zarano, zapizno. Both tricks do one job — two words into one.

How the rule settles in your head
A rule is not memorized from an explanation. It is memorized from an attempt to use it and a mistake — that is why the app delivers it mixed in with words, not as a separate lesson: it resurfaces exactly where you forgot it.
