How it works
Half the gym phrases are about one person making another act. Here -ցն- is inserted into the verb. The pairs speak for themselves: վազել (vazel) → վազեցնել — vazeł (to run) → vazetsneł (to make run); nsdel (to sit) → nsdetsneł (to seat). Hagnel (to put on) → hagtsneł (to dress someone).
What changes in the sentence. A second participant appears: it was yerekhayn kə knay — the child sleeps; it became mayrə yerekhayin k'knetsne. The mother puts the child to bed. The one made to act stands in the dative if alive.
The suffix makes verbs out of qualities too. Tak' (warm) → tak'atsneł (to heat); lav → lavatsneł (to improve); karch → karchatsneł (to shorten). The device: "make it so".
And the pair everyone mixes up. Marzvel — to train oneself; marzeł — to train someone. Here it is not -ցն- but the opposite move: -վ- makes the verb reflexive.
