Քսան, հարիւր, երկրորդ, քառորդ: numbers beyond ten
Numbers past ten are assembled from pieces you already know. For "two tickets" and "five days" the first ten was enough. In a shop and at the post office tens and thousands are needed. How it works
Numbers past ten are assembled from pieces you already know. For "two tickets" and "five days" the first ten was enough. In a shop and at the post office tens and thousands are needed.
Eleven to nineteen — "ten-plus". Տասնմէկ (dasnmeg) — tasnmeg, tasnergu, tasnerek'… All written as one word, tasn- in front. If you know tasə and yerek', you already know tasnerek'.
Tens, hundreds, thousands. K'san (20), yeresun (30), k'arrasun (40), hisun (50), vat'sun (60), yot'anasun (70), ut'sun (80), innsun (90), haryur (100), hazar (1000). A compound number is written as one word: k'sanerek' — twenty-three. Hundreds and thousands, on the contrary, separately: haryur hisun, yergu hazar k'san.
After a number — the singular. Hing medr, haryur gram. Ordinals take -րդ: yerkord, yerrord; "first" — arrachin, without any -րդ. A date goes into the dative: marti ut'in — on the eighth of March. And fractions: kes — a half; k'arrord — a quarter; megukes — one and a half.
