To one person the command is the bare stem, or stem plus -i: idi, skazhy, zachekai, ne biisia. To several, or politely: -it/-te: idit, skazhit, zachekaite, poiasnit.
Four verbs refuse the pattern and are learned whole. Isty → izh eat, daty → dai give. Buty → bud be, ikhaty → id go.
Negative commands always take the doing verb: ne roby, ne kazhy, ne chipai — never the finished one. English feels the same way: do not touch it, not do not have touched it.
