- Раніше я вмикав телевізор і дивився все підряд. Тепер читаю три джерела і порівнюю заголовки. Якщо новина є лише в одному місці, я їй не довіряю: найчастіше це чутка. Соціальна мережа теж не доказ — там усе перебільшують. Перевірити інформацію займає пʼять хвилин, а спокою додає надовго.I used to turn on the TV and watch whatever was on. Now I read three sources and compare the headlines. If a story appears in only one place, I do not trust it: most often it is a rumor. A social network is not proof either — everything there is exaggerated. Checking the information takes five minutes, and it buys calm for a long time.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
