The neighbor believed him and wrote him a power of attorney. The contract was discussed only orally; nothing was in writing, no original either. Three months later the man disappeared. Only later it came out that he was a fraudster. The neighbor filed an application with the police; an investigation began. A lawyer said: by law the right is on your side, but without a document it is hard to demand compensation of the damage. Now the neighbor puts everything in writing. He reads the clauses of the contract twice over. And if some term is unclear, he asks before putting his signature.
