Asking 'what did you say?' is not a mistake; the mistake is nodding without really understanding. The third — if the topic of conversation has wandered off, one can say 'let us return to the topic'. The fourth, and this is the main one: even the word 'no' has its own order. A straight 'no' is not said; they say 'maybe, another time' or 'I will think about it'. Not knowing that this is what it means, you will wait and be deceived. And the last: having finished the conversation, say 'it was pleasant to talk'. The words are short, but they work much.
