Перший іспит я склав на десять балів і отримав стипендію. Живу в гуртожитку, у кімнаті нас троє.I entered university last year. At first it was hard: the lectures are long, the textbooks are thick, and the class schedule changed every week. The hardest subject is chemistry, the easiest is history. I passed my first exam with a ten and got a scholarship. I live in the dorm; there are three of us in the room.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
