- Ponudili so mi delo v drugem mestu in zdaj že tretji teden ne vem, kaj naj naredim. Po eni strani je plača višja in priložnosti take ne dobim vsak dan. Po drugi strani pa bi se moral preseliti, in vsi prijatelji so tu. Prijatelj pravi, da pretiravam in da je razlika manjša, kot se zdi. Zdi se mi, da ima deloma prav, vendar nisem prepričan, da razume moj vzrok za skrb. Skratka, odločiti se moram do petka, prej ali slej pa bom moral povedati tudi doma.I’ve been offered a job in another city, and for the third week now I don’t know what to do. On the one hand, the salary is higher, and chances like this don’t come along every day. On the other hand, I would have to move, and all my friends are here. My friend says I’m exaggerating and that the difference is smaller than it seems. It seems to me he is partly right, but I’m not sure he understands the reason for my worry. In short, the decision has to be made by Friday, and sooner or later I’ll have to tell at home too.

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
