Text
My sister has more than ten thousand followers on social media. She prepares every post in advance and chooses the photo very carefully. Sometimes she gets three hundred likes in an hour, and another time barely fifty, and she never knows why. Under one post so many nasty comments gathered that she had to block several people. She says what tires her most is the speed: a rumor spreads before anybody checks it. So now she checks every piece of news against two sources, even though it means she posts later than others.

Frequently asked
What level do you need to read this text in Slovenian?
B1. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.
How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
