- El setembre entro a la universitat: estudiaré a la facultat de lletres. La carrera dura quatre anys i visc a la residència d'estudiants, a deu minuts de les classes. Al matí tinc conferències i a la vesprada seminaris, on comentem els textos. He demanat una beca, perquè els estudis són cars. Si aprovo tots els cursos, el diploma serà meu al juny.In September I get into university: I will study at the philology faculty. The program lasts four years, and I live in the dorm, ten minutes from classes. In the morning I have lectures, and in the evening seminars where we analyze texts. I filed an application for a scholarship, because studies are expensive. If I pass all the courses, the degree will be mine in June.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
