The total number of readers grew by a third, and the share of children almost doubled. Demand for e-books rose sharply, while for paper books it smoothly declined. The peak of sign-ups came in September, the dip in July, when the city is empty. One indicator stayed the same: on average one book a week per reader. The director said this pattern has repeated for a fifth year and he has no doubt in the accuracy of the count.
