Prošle nedelje sam otišao na sistematski pregled, prvi put posle deset godina. The doctor measured my blood pressure, listened to my lungs and asked whether I smoke. I said I had quit three years ago but still sleep poorly. My test results were in order; only my cholesterol is slightly high. He advised less fatty food, more movement, and looking after one's health without panic.
Comprehension questions
The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.
- When had he last had a check-up before that?
- What did he tell the doctor about smoking?
- What turned out to be out of norm?
- What did the doctor advise?
Frequently asked
What level do you need to read this text in Serbian?
B1. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.
How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
