Text
Yesterday I posted a photo taken in the mountains, and then put the phone in my pocket. In the evening I looked: more than a hundred likes and thirty comments had gathered. One person wrote that the photo was taken somewhere else, and a long argument began. I checked the information: the date and place of the shot, it turns out, are saved in the phone. I did not want to argue, so I added the source in a comment and ended the exchange.
Comprehension questions
The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

- What started the argument?
- How did the narrator verify the information?
- How did it all end?
Frequently asked
What level do you need to read this text in Kazakh?
B1. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.
How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
