At noon the air became stuffy, and the sky was cloudy. Then thunder was heard, and a downpour started. My grandmother said hail would come and the harvest would spoil. We ran home and watched the puddles from the windows. The hail came, but it was small, and the garden beds stayed whole. Toward evening the thunderstorm passed, and a rainbow appeared over the mountains.
