In the morning I was in a hurry and forgot my phone at home. At work I realized I couldn't send a single message. My colleague opened my email from his computer, and I wrote to my wife. In the evening there were seventeen calls and four voice messages at home. The battery had died, so first I plugged in the charger. Since that day my phone is always in my bag.

Comprehension questions

The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

  1. What happened in the morning?
  2. How did he manage to write to his wife?
  3. What did he do at home first of all?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Armenian?

A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
