El meu horari
A short in Catalan text at level A2. The translation sits next to it: reading with a dictionary is still too early at this level, and without support it will not happen at all. My routine is simple, but each day has its own order. I wake at seven; I get up, wash and dress quickly. In the morning…
Text
My routine is simple, but each day has its own order. I wake at seven; I get up, wash and dress quickly. In the morning I breakfast on bread with jam and come to work at half past eight; on Mondays I always come five minutes later, but this week I came early, on time. At noon we lunch in the lunch break, from two to three, and afterwards I drink coffee without sugar. In the evening I go shopping, return at seven and go to bed at eleven; on weekends I play basketball, and afterwards lie an hour on the sofa, without thinking about clocks.

Frequently asked
What level do you need to read this text in Catalan?
A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.
How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?
First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
