- La biblioteca del poble compta cada any els llibres que entren i els que marxen, i les xifres parlen. Aquest any el total de préstecs ha augmentat un terç, i el pic arriba a l'estiu, quan els xiquets tenen temps. En canvi, els diaris han baixat moltes vegades menys: la bretxa entre el paper i la pantalla creix. La bibliotecària no es queixa: amb marge o en plena feina, cada mes arriba una desena de lectors nous. I si li preguntes a ull quants som al poble, respon de memòria: «tres mil, i uns quants llibres més».The city library counts every year how many books came and went, and the figures speak. This year the total number of loans grew by a third, and the peak comes in summer, when children have time. The newspapers, however, fell many times over: the gap between paper and screen grows. The librarian does not complain: with a margin or in the thick of work, every month a dozen new readers come. And if you ask her by eye how many of us there are in the town, she answers from memory: "three thousand, and some more books".
