Text

  • Ders programına baktım: salı günü iki yazılı var, matematik ve tarih. Matematiğe çalıştım ama tarih konularını daha tekrarlamadım. Sınıf arkadaşım bana ders kitabını verdi, notları da fotoğrafladım. Teneffüste kütüphaneye gidip iki saat çalışacağım. Kopya çekmeyi hiç sevmiyorum: bir kere yakalanan bir daha unutmuyor.
I looked at the class schedule: on Tuesday there are two tests, math and history. I prepared for math, but I haven't reviewed the history topics yet. A classmate gave me the textbook, and I photographed the notes. During the break I'll go to the library and study for two hours. Comprehension questions

The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

  1. How many tests are there on Tuesday?
  2. Which subject hasn't he prepared for yet?
  3. What did the classmate give him?
  4. Where will he study during the break?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Turkish?

A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
