Last autumn I began to fall ill often. First I caught the flu, then my throat grew inflamed. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic and suggested a medical check-up. The check-up result came out good, but the doctor demanded that I quit smoking. He put it this way: fatty food harms the liver, and walking in the fresh air is good for you. I quit smoking, made dinner lighter and began walking half an hour every day. Now I feel well, and my sleep has returned to normal too.

  4. What has changed now?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Kazakh?

A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
