Why it looks that way

A verbal noun, and live speech takes two different forms: getankhmebi — I agree with you (about an opinion) — and davtanxmdi — I agreed (to an offer). Whom you agree with is dative; what you agree to takes -ze

A word with a story stays in memory longer than one learned as a “spelling — translation” pair: memory holds on to meaning, not to a string.
