One day I was going to my parents and was late to the station. Just at that moment they announced that the train was being delayed by two hours. At first I got angry, but then I got acquainted with a woman who was going to the same city. We talked for two hours, and the road passed as if in a few minutes. That's how it went: the delay became the best part of the day.

Comprehension questions

The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

  2. What was announced at that moment?
  3. What did he do then?
  4. What did the delay become?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Armenian?

A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
