- Iaz neguan hasi ginen baserri zaharra berritzen: hasieran dena zerotik egin behar izan genuen. Lana atzeratu zuen euriak, eta egun batzuetan luze joan zen. Baina ez genuen amore eman: asteburuetan gogor ekin genion, azken indarretan ere bai. Oztopo handiena dirua izan zen, baina bizilagunek lagundu ziguten. Udazkenean, amaiera aldera, guztia amaituta zegoen; orain etxea mantenduko da zutik hurrengo neguan ere.Last winter we began to renovate the old homestead: at first everything had to be done from scratch. The rain delayed the work, and on some days the job dragged on. But we did not give up: on weekends we kept at it stubbornly, even with our last strength. The biggest obstacle was money, but the neighbors helped us. In the fall, near the end, everything was finished; now the house will stand through the next winter too.
