  • Fui a comprar ropa para el viaje y salí de la tienda con menos de lo que pensaba. La camiseta verde me quedaba bien, pero la blanca era demasiado grande y en el probador se veía enorme. I went to buy clothes for the trip and left the store with less than I planned. The green T-shirt fit well, but the white one was too big and looked huge in the fitting room. Comprehension questions

The questions are asked in Russian on purpose: we test your understanding of the text, not your ability to read the question.

  1. What was wrong with the white T-shirt?
  2. Why did the narrator not take the sweater?
  3. What did he buy that was unnecessary?

Frequently asked

What level do you need to read this text in Spanish?

A2. That means: you know the letters and have a stock of everyday words — about two or three hundred.

How to read a text in an unfamiliar language usefully?

First all the way through without peeking at the translation — just to catch the familiar words. Then with the translation. Then all the way through again: the second pass brings noticeably more, and that feeling matters more than any rule.
